My name is in honor of Margherita Hack. One of the Tuscan women who made history. Free and brilliant mind, this lady of the stars has had an amazing career, studded (it is appropriate to say) by prestigious honors and assignments, turning the disclosure into a joyful art. Professor of astronomy at the University of Trieste until 1992, she was the first Italian woman to direct the Trieste Astronomical Observatory, a position that she held from 1964 to 1987, transforming herself, as Veronesi said, into an icon of free thought and of non-conformism and, we add, of great social commitment. An extraordinary woman, animated by the same passion that moves the sun and the other stars.
